Alisha McAlister, co-owner and a stylist at Wanderlust Hair Art Studio in Joplin, Missouri, admits that her mind works in color formulas 90% of the time. She’s a self-taught painter, a Starbucks iced coffee addict, and Jack Winn Pro Educator who is passionate about her craft that includes creating masterful balayage and color melts plus custom and creative hair color. McAlister’s work has been featured on several Instagram accounts including: Modern Salon, American Salon, Beauty Launchpad, Stylists Supporting Stylists, Hair Painters, Best of Balayage. Her “Fruit Juice Hair Creation” went viral on Marie Claire, Teen Vogue, Glamour UK, Pop Sugar, Vogue Australia, and Vogue Italy.

McAlister describes herself as soft-hearted, friendly, bubbly, and is almost always in a good mood. She takes pride in her work and enjoys teaching fellow stylists' new tricks to make clients feel beautiful.

She is married to her high school sweetheart, is a mom of two grown children and several fur babies. An adventurer at heart who loves treasure hunting, mining for gems, and as a child, she dreamed of becoming an archeologist. When not in the salon or spending time with loved ones, she arms herself with a mini shovel and using her metal detector, searches for bounty in grassy fields.
